Updated - 4/11/09... see below!
Hello Everyone! My name is London - quite fitting for an "English" Setter, don't you think?

I'm one of the newest members of the IBR crew - and let me tell you, I'm so happy to be searching for my new fur-ever family! As my story indicates, the past few months have not been easy... I lost my beloved sister, and you could certainly see the sadness in my eyes...

But I'm settling in nicely with my foster family - and now have TWO fun foster sisters to play with! Lucky me!

I love to chase the frisbee - and love it even more when one of my foster sisters chases ME!

Warp speed around the back yard - look at those ears FLY!

And of course, I also love to give chase - whew, my foster sister is speedy!
Aaaaaaaah, the sweet taste of victory!
This is my silly "LET'S PLAY" face! I love when my foster mom tickles my ribs, and if you listen real close... I even giggle a little bit!

Nope, I'm not pointing birds - I'm about to POUNCE on my foster sister!

Nope, I'm not pointing birds - I'm about to POUNCE on my foster sister!
And after a hard day of play, nothing beats a little "sofa time" with my sisters! (And mom, of course - if she can find room on the sofa!)

Check back for more updates! This pretty little sweetheart won't last long!

If you think you might be interested in me - please inquire with IBR, and continue to watch my blog, as updates will be added as my foster mom learns more about my personality. Woof-woof! (aka... thanks!)
4/11/09 - UPDATE: London has been such a sweet and easy girl to foster! She is very low maintenance - and has been a pleasure to have in my home. Here is a quick snapshot of her sweet personality:
- Quiet: London is very quiet, she rarely barks - except when a suspicious creature visits the yard once per day (aka... the mailman), then she's good to let me know someone is in the yard! But she won't bark at passing dogs, bicyclists, etc.. When walking about the neighborhood, other dogs will charge the fence and bark - London does not react, and barely even acknowledges the dogs with a glance.
- Leash: London is so easy to take for walks - she doesn't pull on her leash, and just seems happy to be out and about! (London will pull a tad on the leash if a squirrel crosses our path - but otherwise is a breeze to walk!) When walking on the expandable lead, she will stick close to my Setter - and seems to follow her lead in most situations.
- Personality: London is a quiet, calm, sweet little girl - she doesn't demand attention, or beg for food from the table. She takes treats with an easy mouth, and will sit nicely when asked. London has had a history of being an escape artist with her previous family - and can squeeze through tight spaces. At night, London and her two foster sisters sleep in the bed with me - haha. London is an angel, she sleeps quietly from about 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. She sleeps the whole night through, and seems to really, really enjoy being at the foot of my bed.
- Other Dogs: London LOVES the company of other dogs! I think she would do best in a home with another well established dog. She picked up our household routines quickly - and I credit most of that to observing the behavior of my dogs. As you can see from the photos... she loves to run and play! When I leave the house, I put all 3 dogs together in my small kitchen or garage - they do fine (uncrated)... no signs of stress, and nothing torn up! :)
- Birds: London has a mild-to-medium interest in birds. She won't stand in the window sills like my Setter - watching every movement, but she'll point the occasional robin in the yard. She takes a serious interest in squirrels!
- Cats: I would suggest London go to a home without cats, or with a dog-savvy kitty... she shows a good deal of interest in my cat, and will give chase. So, if her fur-ever home has a kitty, be prepared to carefully monitor that introduction and interaction for a while.
Other thoughts: London will make someone very happy! She's sweet, very easy and gets along great with other dogs! She's happy to rest quietly on her doggy pillow for a nap, (or the couch if you'll let her!), doesn't need to be the center of attention - and really just hopes to find a nice family (adults or older kids) that will patiently let her continue to learn how wonderful life can be in a loving home!
4/6/09 - Introduction: just a couple of quick facts about London. London is a very pretty, 4 years young, 38 pound, tri-color English Setter. She's mostly black and white, with just a smidge of brown. She's housetrained, gets along well with other dogs and will be cat-tested within the week. London will need to go to a home with older kiddos (or no kiddos)... sorry, small children won't be a good match.
Although I don't know much about her personality yet (she's just come into foster) - I will share a very cute story. London arrived in my home sad and nervous... and for a while, she quietly observed my other dogs. She eventually built up the courage to instigate a little play time with my English Setter, who is quite animated, and as my Setter threw back her head and let out a long a-roooooooooo... guess who joined right in? YES - London! It was Setter STEREO! (Hahaha, I laughed and laughed.)
Check back for more updates! This pretty little sweetheart won't last long!
